Preparing for the real world expectations in the salon, spa or shop can be very different from preparing you for the exam process.

You have practiced all of the real world skills and met the expectations with guidance and support from all of those who have educated and supported you.

So it just makes sense that you have a coach that can do the same for you in preparation for the practical and written exam portion of your educational journey. We help diminish the worry and fear of taking the exam and knowing what will be expected of you and your skills.

Wherever you feel comfortable, such as your own home, anywhere where you can get a strong internet signal, have access to electricity and great lighting, and an area to demonstrate your skills to the camera without interference from other people or maybe a pet.

This depends on the discipline you are seeking to enter, such as:

    • Cosmetology practical will take approx. 4-5 hours to complete
    • Hair Design practical will take approx. 3-4 hours to complete
    • Barbering practical will take approx. 3-4 hours to complete
    • Manicurist/Nail Technology practical will take approx. 3-4 hours to complete
    • Esthetics will take approx. 3-4 hours to complete

You will be allowed to do this somewhat on your own time frame, however there will be a deadline that needs to be met. You may discuss this with your coach at your pre-interview

Good Question. Examiners are in the position they are in to catch any mistake you may make, and every exam is different due to the participants at the exam site.

Your friend may have done well, or other candidates were performing services that may have caught the examiners eye and therefore your friend was not spotted performing incorrect methods or lacking in expectations from the examiners.

In other words, it's easier to come fully prepared, than leaving the exam up to chance and really not knowing what the expectations are for the exam.
